About Us

History of the Choir

Wisconsin Children's choir was established in 1992 by Cathy Johnson as a means of proving young singers with a choral experience where excellence is valued. Singers have an opportunity to develop their full musical potential and increase their self-esteem through the success that comes from working together.  Their professionally prepared voices have delighted the community since their opening season.

Our Choirs

Wisconsin Children's Choir offers two main choirs for children entering 3 through 12th grade.

Concert Choir: The entry level choir with an emphasis on performance and learning part singing.  All choristers are taught music theory before moving to the more advanced choir.

Youth Chorale:  Our top level choir, singing the most difficult music, in 4 or more part harmonies.  Chamber choir is a subset of the Youth chorale kids made up of the most advanced members.  They sing a cappella music in 4 parts+.  Members of the Youth Chorale are invited to travel with the group to perform around the United States and the world.

Entry to the choir is by audition.  We look for potential no perfection.  Auditions are held throughout the year.  Auditions are open to every child with a love of singing.    We promise to offer an enriching fun musical experience that will last a lifetime.
